Milarepa

This film focuses only on the first part of Milarepa's life - a tale of youthful rage, revenge, black magic and murder against those who had badly wronged his family and then his eventual redemption. An old monk reveals the essence of the Buddha's teachings: cease negative actions, cultivate positive actions, and tame your wild mind. As the gravity of his dreadful actions dawns upon him he finds victory over his enemies does not leave him vindicated. Instead it teaches him the futility of revenge and propels him on another journey - this time to find a spiritual master who can help deliver him from the evil karma that haunts him - Marpa. One of the most revered figures in Tibetan history, Milarepa's story became a legend, inspiring millions.
